Mount Isa Kanga

Healthy Mumma, Happy Bubba

Kangatraining is a dance based babywearing workout that is perfect for mothers to socialise and exercise without the need for a babysitter and enjoy all the health benefits without going to the gym. Kanga is a total body workout for mums where your baby can relax and enjoy being close to you. We will take you through a specifically designed program that focuses on re-strengthening your pelvic floor, abdominal muscles as well as correcting your posture while carrying your baby.

When can I commence classes?

You can start Kangatraining once you have been given the ‘all clear’ from your GP/OB to start a postnatal program. This can be from 6 weeks postpartum, however there is a 12week wait if you had a caesarean. Kanga is not suitable during pregnancy.

Is there an age limit for babies?

There is no age cap for children. Most carriers are weight tested to 20kg. As long as your child is happy, comfortable and safe, you can Kanga as long as you want. We have had many babies participate in Kanga up to 2 years old.

Is my baby carrier suitable or what if I don’t have one?

You are welcome to bring your own carrier which we will assess for suitability. Kara is trained in safe baby wearing practises and will assist you with getting the best fit and comfort for you and your baby. Manduca carriers are available for hire during each class. They are really simple, comfortable and ergonomic for the exercises we do. Come along for a ‘test drive’.
