Kangatraining - Kirstie Watson

Kirstie Watson

Hi there! My name is Kirstie and I would love to Kanga with you!

I am a Mum of 5 and have owned and run GymbaROO Canberra since February 2016. I've always been passionate about movement for our babies and kids - its time to focus on ourselves as well!

I am currently studying a Diploma of sports and exercise science and my Certificate III in Fitness; I have a passion for fitness and I was a ballet dancer up until the age of 21. I promise my classes will be high energy, and so much fun – lets live to move together!

Kangatraining is specifically designed for postnatal women - it is the ultimate babywearing workout for mums and bubs. We focus on rebuilding your entire body after pregnancy and birth, through a fun & energetic class.

You can begin Kangatraining as early as 6 weeks postpartum if you've had a vaginal delivery but need to be at least 12 weeks postpartum if you've had a c-section - you must also have been given the all clear from your health professional. There is no age limit for babies as long as every mother participating in Kangatraining can wear their baby safely and comfortably. Older siblings are welcome to come along too.

Benefits of Kangatraining

  • no need for a babysitter
  • total body workout
  • promotes mother and baby bonding
  • positive outcomes for postnatal depression
  • social, meeting other like-minded mothers
  • relaxed and fun environment
  • creates a support structure
  • promotes healthy mind and body
  • promotes safe and healthy baby wearing

Bookings are essential - classes run in Fairbairn on Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. I run a KangaMix outdoor program in Kingston on Friday's where you can wear your bub or join in with bub in a your pram. We run in ACT school terms, and I also run classes during school holidays if I'm in Canberra.

Once you have registered for a class, I will be in touch via email and sms text message with further information. Note - the KangaMix sessions are listed after the Kangatraining sessions. I offer your first class free, then you can attend casually for $25, or purchase a 3 class pass for $66 or a 10 class pass for $200 (payment plans available).

Note that I work alongside Rachel from Kangatraining Tuggeranong, Weston Creek & surrounds - this means your passes are also valid at her Thursday 12.30pm class held in Coombs! Rachel run's the classes in school terms, over an 8 week period.
